fragments
exhibition object: „Fragmente“
exhibition place: Outside installation during the 57 Kemptener Kunstausstellung.
year: 2006
material: dimensions variable, aluminium, plaster
function: The boats/husks turn around the aluminium poles, which are mounted at a 45-degree angle.
The work „Fragmente“ focuses on a subjective world experienceof separate elements.
The number and formation of the objects, as well as the length of their axes, is not determined, meaning that there is an indefinite number of axes in the world, differing in length and diameter and in their attachment to objects.
The boats/husks made from plaster, a bone-like material, fixed to an individual axis and temporarily installed, represent a selection, fragments of a whole.
The work points out singularities, whilst at the same time also offering the possibility for generalisation.
